The electrical consumption of LED screens is determined by several technical features of the screen such as: LEDs brightness, the size of the screen and the number of LEDs it contains.
Although the consumption is relatively on a square meter level, everything will logically depend on the number of square meters that our advertising screen has.
HOW TO REDUCE MY GIANT SCREEN’S POWER CONSUMPTION?
The higher the operating brightness of a LED screen, the higher its consumption. Keep in mind that the highest brightness is necessary for the screen to have a good readability in hours of full incidence of sunlight. In other time slots, you can reduce the brightness of the screen substantially while maintaining perfect readability. In night hours or very low light you can reduce the brightness of the screen substantially.
There are several ways to effectively control a screen’s power consumption:
- TIME SCHEDULING:
Through the software application you can manage the time when it switches on and off. In addition, you can program the brightness conditions of the screen according to the time of day. This gives us great possibilities to always offer the best image display.
- LIGHT SENSOR
The light sensors are photosensitive devices that measure the brightness of the the screen’s environment. In this way, the adjustment of the brightness of the screen can be fully automated. These sensors allow you to set behavior curves and brightness thresholds, thus offering total control over the brightness of the screen.
ELEMENTS THAT IMPROVE THE TOTAL POWER CONSUMPTION OF THE SCREEN
Adding an on and off schedule system to the electrical panel is quite useful, since turning them off by software, all you do is disable the playback of the contents, but the screen is still on in a kind of standby mode.
This would be recommended for screens that are larger than 4m2, since consumption for smaller sizes does not compensate for the investment made.
